Socket Weld Flange

Socket weld flanges have a socket structure for pipe connection, with the flange ring attached to the outer pipe wall using a fillet weld. Due to the low shear force on the weld, they offer higher fatigue resistance. However, their sealing surfaces (RF/FF) require a gasket for use.

Features

The flange is suitable for small-diameter pipes (typically ≤ 3 inches/80mm) and for medium-to-low pressure systems, especially in scenarios with lower sensitivity to vibration.

It is often used in piping systems with non-corrosive media and non-severe vibration, such as steam and water.

It is not recommended for corrosive fluids or high-pressure applications.
